To party ,to celebrate , to have a good time
A good and familiar expression useful in normal daily conversations. " la fête " means festival . It is used in various expressions. In this post, we use it in one particularité sence. Note the following sentences.
1. Tu auras l'examen la semaine prochaine . Au lieu de faire la fête , travaillez dur.
You will have exam next week. Instead of making merry ,work hard.
2. Elle a réussit à son examen. Du coup, elle va faire la fête .
She passed her examination. So she is going to celebrate.
3. Mes enfants font les fête tous les jours pendant les vacances.
My children party all the days during holidays.
