SECOND BATCH 
ANNOUNCEMENT

1.The first batch of Basic French Course for 60 hours was completed successfully on 20/03/2016 at the Indian Institute of World Culture, Bangalore. The second batch is proposed to be conducted from 22nd May 2016 to 20th September 2016 . The classes will be held on Sundays only to cater to everyone desiring to learn French during weekend without interfering with their normal activities during week days.
2.The course content will be as follows:
French alphabets - French Pronunciation -Introducing oneself - Introducing others - Greetings - Nationalities-names of countries- Numbers - Days of a week-months - Telling one’s age- Telling Time -Telling weather-Describing a person - Describing things- colours- Describing a house/apartment/place/city/village/country- Expressing one’s likes and dislikes -daily activities -Expressing one’s plans- Professions- Talking about one’s work - Polite requests- Asking Questions - Finding one’s way - Talking Over Telephone - Before the customs official - travelling - booking one’s ticket - hotel reservation - visiting places of interest - expressing one’s feelings - pastimes - talking about films/ personalities / books - narrating past events -understanding documents like passport/visa/simple forms / newspaper ,magazine advertisement etc - Understanding a recipe-Writing an invitationChoosing from a menu , a cinema programe , a show, and understanding tourist pamphlets- Going to the doctor-French Proverbs - Simple French Poems -Basic French Grammar - Articles -Nouns- Adjectives-Adverbs-Pronouns-Prepositions-Conjunctions- Basic French Verbs - Pronominal verbs-Conjugation - Present - Past- Recent Past - Future - Near Future-Imperfect- Pluperfect- Present Conditional - Imperatives - Gerund - Imperatives- Negative expressions-Formation of questions - Present Participle and Gerund-Use of idiomatic expressions. -Vocabulary relating to professions, family,body, common ailments, animals, dress, food, home- furniture- household appliances-shopping- transport-media-countryside-cities-travel. Use of dictionary and internet for improving language competence- Watching TV- Listening to French songs and news bulletins -Recitation of simple poems - Basic information on French Culture.
3. There will be twenty sessions of total duration of 60 hours. Each session will be of a duration of 3 hours. The classes will commence at 9 30 am and end at 1pm with 30 minutes break from 11am to 11-30 am. Instruction , speaking practice, listening practice, role playing - tutorials  will form part of each session . Home work and other language related activities will form part of the course. The course materials will be supplied to all the participants.
4. The fees for the course is Rs 5000/ - ( Rupees Five Thousand Only ) . The Admission Fee is Rs 100 /- only ( Rupees one hundred only). The fees paid will not be refundable under any circumstances.
